Christmas Jammies!!

Every year on Christmas Eve I remember being soooo excited, Christmas was the next day and I couldn't wait! I remember begging my mom to open just 1 present on Christmas eve, and I felt as if I begged all day and then finally convinced her to let me open one, although her rule was that she got to pick out which one it was that we got to open! So finally before we went to bed we opened up our 1 present and it was Christmas Jammie's. Surprise surprise every year was Christmas Jammie's!! Now heres the kicker, this had gone on for many many many years and not once did I ever clue into her little trick! I honestly can say I didn't catch on till I was well into my teenage years. Mothers are so dang tricky! Well its my turn now! I just still cant believe she tricked my brother and I so well into her way of having us have fresh clean Jammie's for pictures the next morning! Once again my mother pulled it off! I loved the Christmases that Chase and I were matching but I sure did LOVE the year that I finally caught on and told my mom just the ones I wanted!! Well needless to say The tradition lives on with her and now my little man and husband and it will be the one Tradition that never goes away!!

Jelly bean Trail...!

I loved waking up every Easter morning because I knew that meant Easter baskets were there full of fun goodies. But the best part about it is that there would always be a trail leading from our room to our Easter baskets of Jelly beans. It was just another fun thing that my mom took time out to do for us kids! I am so grateful for those fun memories. My dad always called it Easter bunny poop and my mom always said it was just a trail the Easter bunny left for us to find our baskets!! I love how this was something so simple and that it is one of my Favorite memories! I am just itching at the chance for my kids to be old enough that they will start to notice these things and enjoy them! Thanks mom for the fun childhood and memories, they will ALWAYS be remembered!

Best Ice cubes in town!

I am craving these ice cubes so bad and I have tried and tried to recreate these Ice cubes but it can NOT happen! My grandma used to fill her ice cube trays with the bottled water that they had and they were always the best tasting/looking in the world! These Ice cubes were perfectly shaped and completely see threw! They were the best in a cold drink! They were like model Ice cubes, we should have taken a bunch of pictures! They looked so awesome in a glass with Pepsi! They were also so soft to chew for some reason! I really don't have alot to say about these Ice Cubes but the fact that they were fun, delicious, gorgeous, perfect and impossible to re due! The picture is exactly what they looked like!

Melanie and the girls come for the summer!

I can remember every summer getting so anxious for it to arrive, because I knew that meant I got to see my Aunt Melanie and my cousins Aubrey and Laney! I was so excited I couldn't keep it in! They would fly in from Dallas TX (where i am at now) on Southwest airlines. It was always the plane with red and gold! I feel like they were here for the whole summer but that far back they could have been here for 2 weeks and I would have felt like it was 8! I guess I need to find that out! We spent everyday together and many trips to Sea World and the zoo.I remember picking them up from the airport with either my mom or grandparents. It was so fun to go to the airport to pick people up back then, because everyone could go through security and watch the planes come in and take-off, we would always get there early and watch the planes, and then once their plane was here we stood by the door and watched everyone get off until they were with us! I remember my cousins always matching and my aunt looking gorgeous as always! I loved to watch big smiles meet when we saw each other! I loved spending time with them! Summers were always fun and full with talent shows and playing house! It was great! Moments like that are so fun. I was always sad the day they left but they did come back alot, but the most important thing is they found their way back to California and so will I! I miss you girls, Melanie I love you so much and you are a true example and family member that will always be locked in my heart! Aubrey you are my best friend and always will be even though when we were young you were quite the character but I am sure I was too! Laney you are the biggest love and the softest soul, I knew you would never change and soft spirit reaches everyone to love you! Thanks southwest for bringing my family to me every summer!

Valentines by MOM!

I have been dieing to post this topic! I have been thinking about it for months and I am finally doing something about it! Its on Valentines and how my mom made them special for us! Every year for valentines we would decorate a little with hearts around the house and window decorations and then the day of Valentines mom would always have a very fun display for each of us at the table for when we woke up! The displays were always Cute little plastic heart shaped boxes that were full of stuff that we like and didn't have everyday like our favorite drink, candy, snack, and fun little trinkets, most of the stuff though inside was pink or red or white! Then she always had half a poster size card for us that had little clippings into a collage of things about us! Like my card always had shamu because I like sea world or cut outs from candy boxes or whatever, just a collage about us, it was her way of showing us she knew what we liked and who we were! I loved! she was the best when it came to holidays she had very fun traditions and I am so lucky I had her for my Mommy! Thanks mom for making every valentines special and letting me know you love me! I am having alot of fun with it now as I got to start it for Gid this year and Brandon! The traditions live on!

Turtlenecks!

My Grammy Sherry, you got to love her, she is fun and always ready to shop! She was so good every year she always had beautiful outfits for her grand kids for Christmas and Birthdays, They would always be Beautifully wrapped and the tissue inside was never wrinkled and I think more then 99% was in a nordstrom box! The funny thing is that every outfit I got (I guess since my birthday and Christmas are in winter) always had a Turtleneck to go with it! This lady loves her Turtlenecks! I think I was the only Grandchild(or so I feel) that got a turtle neck, and the funny things is I DON'T like turtlenecks, they make me feel like I am being strangled and suffocated!! I think I have seen all of my other cousins wear one but not me! I start like gagging and getting all weird because I feel very claustrophobic in it! I think in my years of getting clothes from Grammy I got one in every color! But the legacy definitely lives on because last year for Christmas Gid got his first Turtleneck in a cream color!! I was telling this to Brandon last night and it seems we both feel the same way about turtlenecks! I guess we really were supposed to be together! So for future reference don't buy us turtlenecks! Its not because we don't like them its because we really feel like we are dieing! Although I never wore the turtlenecks Grammy still managed to get beautiful out fits that went with them and yes I did wear them! It was just the turtlenecks Grams!! Love you and thank you for the Gifts!

Red Door!

I remember the day I officially knew my grandma was getting old and sort of loosing it(if that's ok to say), it was the day of the famous red door! I remember one day showing up to my grandparents house and their door was painted a reddish pinkish color.... don't ask me why or how or even why my grandpa let her do this!! The funny thing was that not much earlier did they have there house painted gray and white! So here is this big beautiful house that was painted white and gray and now it has a very BOLD red door with old black/brown hinges!! It was hideous, I mean this door stood out like crazy especially since it was in a neighborhood of older houses and that definitely was not the look. This look would have fit in like London walking down the street, like the movie Noting Hill! Their house had this amazing huge yard with beautiful flowers and grass and orange trees all around and suddenly there was this RED door! I got to love the memories of people getting older, it makes me sit back and wonder what type of things I will do and say! And as I will post more stories of things I realized that weren't exactly my grandma I have to leave you with the red door being JUST the start of it all! p.s. the door in the picture is not their house or door but is exactly the color and the house had stucco not brick!
